Digital Crop Survey in Telangana From Tomorrow

HYDERABAD – The Telangana state government is set to launch a crucial digital initiative for farmers. Starting tomorrow, the process of Digital Crop Booking will officially commence across the state. Farmers are urged to take immediate action, as the entire process has a strict deadline of 40 days.

Mandatory Registration to Access Government Benefits

Digital Crop Booking is a mandatory process for all farmers seeking government benefits and schemes. Its primary goal is to create a comprehensive and accurate digital record of cultivated crops across the state. Without this registration, farmers may face significant challenges in selling their produce at a fair price and availing government support.

Key Benefits for Farmers

This digital registration is crucial for several reasons:

  • Paddy and Cotton Sales: Farmers who wish to sell their paddy at Minimum Support Price (MSP) at government procurement centers, or their cotton to the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI), must have their crop details registered. The government will not purchase produce from farmers who have not completed the booking process.
  • Rythu Bharosa Scheme: The state’s flagship Rythu Bharosa scheme is directly linked to this registration. Only farmers who have cultivated crops and recorded their details in the digital system will be eligible for financial assistance under the scheme.
  • Other Government Aid: Accurate crop data will help the government in the efficient distribution of subsidies, seeds, and fertilizers. It will also facilitate quick and fair compensation for crop damage caused by natural calamities.

How to Register

To complete the registration, farmers must contact their respective Agricultural Extension Officer (AEO). The AEOs, equipped with digital devices, will visit villages to collect and upload the crop details, including the type of crop, the cultivated area, and the land survey number.

Farmers must cooperate with the officials and provide accurate information. Given the limited 40-day timeframe, it is vital that all farmers get their details entered promptly to avoid being left out of the system. This digital initiative is not just a formality; it is a fundamental step towards modernizing agriculture and ensuring that government benefits reach those who need them most.
